My First Blog Entry

For my first blog entry, I wanted to share a mini album that I made out of paper bags, also known in the world of scrapbooking as PBA (paper bag album). My friend Leelee and I decided to get together on the Friday before picking up our kids from Spring Retreat where they were since Wednesday. I packed up my bags and headed off to my friends house to scrap all night. We had a good time. This album has a middle page made out of a transparency and the letters were cut out with the Cricut machine. We went to bed passed 1am and we set the alarm to wake us up at 9am to continue scrapping. We woke up at seven, brushed our teeth had breakfast and continued working. We were too excited to sleep 2 more hours. When I finished my PBA I started a recipe book. This book is very dear to me. I gave all the women of my family and my uncle that cooks, a card and had them write with their own handwriting recipes that they make. No fancy ones, but ones that really said who they are. I really enjoyed making this family heirloom.

Para mi primer entrada de mi blog, quise compartir un mini album que hice de bolsitas de papel. En el mundo de scrapbooking le dicen PBA (significa album de bolsitas de papel en ingles). Mi amiga Leelee y yo decidimos juntarnos el viernes antes de recoger a nuestros hijos de un retiro que tuvieron los jovenes. Pasamos un tiempo muy grato. Este album tiene una pagina en el medio que es hecha de una transparencia y las letras fueron hechas con la maquina Cricut. Nos fuimos a dormir pasada la 1 de la mañana y pusimos la alarma para levantarnos a las 9 AM para continuar trabajando. Pero que va, estabamos muy entusiasmadas para dormir 2 horas extras. Nos levantamos a las 7 am nos cepillamos los dientes, desayunamos y seguimos. Cuando termine mi PBA empece un librito de recetas. Este librito significa mucho para mi. Le di a todas las mujeres de mi familia y a mi tio que cocina, una hojita para que escribieran sus recetas con su puño y letra. Nada complicado, sino recetas que realmente expresan quienes ellas son. Me encanto hacer este recuerdo familiar.
